Equatorial Guinea Reveals Plan to Further Boost Employment

The Republic of Equatorial Guinea, through its General Director of Labor, Ángel Francisco Ela Ngomo, and the General Director of National Content, Jacinto Nguema Owono, revealed an action plan to further boost employment in the country.

The action plan is focused on finding and training personnel for the Mines and Hydrocarbons sector, among other industries.

The Labor and National Content directories will work in partnership to control the process of contracting services of foreign labor, grant work permits, issue visas and authorization to work to strengthen the national workforce in the hydrocarbons sector.

Equatorial Guinea has called for sustainable development to generate employment, economic growth, and structural economic transformation as a means to eradicate poverty in Africa.

Strengthening the employment market is one of Equatorial Guinea’s areas of focus under the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in line with the country’s Horizon 2020 Plan.
